Three of our footballers took part in a Special Olympics Regional 7 a side football event today. Together with athletes from Widnes and Ellesmere Port they have been selected to represent the North West at the National Summer Games in August.
Shoppers at Southport Asda were able to use their green tokens to vote for us between October and December. Although we didn't get the most tokens Asda still gave us £200 to help our athletes competing in the 2017 National Special Olympics in Sheffield.
Following their donation of £1,400 last year, the generous members of Southport Sunrise Rotary Club have given us another £250 towards the cost of this year's National Summer Games. After an absence of over 10 years our mascot Buzz has been returned to us! A former volunteer had been keeping him safe for us at her home but felt it was time for him to come home.
